Alex Acuña started to play in Lima, Peru – professional at 10 years of age, became a studio musician at 16 and came to the USA at 18 years of age. Acuña started recording in the US in 1964 until now with so many icons of all kinds of music – Elvis, Diana Ross, Weather Report, Whitney Houston, U2, Tito Puente, Luis Miguel, Madonna, Placido Domingo, Jennifer Netles, from symphonic to ethnic music including jazz, pop, rock, latin jazz, country, and actually now playing with Hollywood movie composers – John Williams, Allan Silvestri, Michael Giachinno, James Newton Howard, Alexandre Desplats, John Powell, John Dabney. Collaborating with conductor Gustavo Dudamel, Acuña also played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
